This Instrumentum laboris is the base document to guide the work of the second session of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly, scheduled from 2 to 27 October 2024. It highlights, in particular, the role of women and the need for transparency and accountability. The introduction reviews the journey so far, highlighting the synodal methodology of lsquo;Conversation in the Spirit rsquo;.
The section on Foundations explores synodality as a path of conversion and reform, the Church as a sign of unity, reconciliation and listening, especially for the poor and minorities.
The first part examines Relationships with God, among the faithful, and between Churches, essential for a synodal Church on mission. The second part highlights Pathways and communal discernment to promote everyone rsquo;s participation. The third part explores Places where the relationships and paths of the Church take shape.
The document invites the Church to continue its journey as lsquo;Pilgrims of Hope rsquo;, anticipating the Jubilee of 2025 with the aim of serving the Church and provide an opportunity to heal the wounds of our time.​
